Breathe New Hampshire

Make a Hog of Yourself for Healthy Breathing.

On Sunday August 9, 2009 at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH, teams of two will switch-off running and biking during the first four segments of the 5-6 mile course. The pairs will run together during the final leg of the course. The course will include obstacles at each transition point and the 60 foot Mud Hog Mud Pit that will stand between you and the finish line. After the race, participants will enjoy a BBQ while they watch other racers dig their way through the Mud Hog Mud Pit  and listen to live music!

Last year's event drew over two times the participants of the inaugural race, with 110 fun loving individuals running and slugging their way through the mud.  "We hope to more than double the number this year," said organizer, Matt Hartman. "We are setting a limit of 250 participants, that's probably the most we can handle."  Last year's event drew folks from across the country.  "We had a number of folks who were vacationing in New Hampshire and just happened upon the event," Matt said.

Several years ago, Matt participated in a similar race and had a blast.  When that event was not scheduled again, he decided to replicate it in New Hampshire.  He decide to donate any profit made from the event to Breathe New Hampshire.  Last year, Matt presented us with a check for $700 and he hopes to double that this year.

Registrations are being taken now.  Click here to join the fun.  That's right, go ahead, make a hog of yourself! Or if you are not feeling up to the challenge, race organizers are currently looking for volunteers to help out with the event.
