Programs & Resources

Pulmonary Program Resource List:  A current list of pulmonary rehabilitation and support groups available across
New Hampshire, for individuals living with COPD or other lung diseases.

COPD Awareness Team:  A group of volunteers interested in raising public awareness about COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in New Hampshire. Members include: those affected by COPD (patients and caregivers), health care providers, business representatives, and others. This Team also provides an opportunity for those affected by COPD to give guidance to Breathe New Hampshire and share resources with others statewide.

Patient Advisory Group:  An opportunity for people affected by lung disease to give guidance to Breathe New Hampshire and share resources with others statewide.

Eager Breather’s Fresh Air Day Cruise:  A social and educational event for individuals living with COPD and their family members on the M/S Mount Washington. Next cruise: Sept. 10, 2009.

Health Education Materials: Print materials available on COPD, lung cancer and other lung diseases. 

Lending Library:  A collection of educational materials consisting of 3-D displays hands-on models, DVD’s and other lung health education tools. The Library includes the “Empathy Lungs”™, a COPD simulator. 

Data Collection:  Breathe New Hampshire sponsored a question on the 2008 State of New Hampshire’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS), which gathers information on the health of NH residents. This question will help us better understand how many NH residents are affected by lung diseases such as COPD, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Legislative Advocacy:  Breathe New Hampshire staff and volunteers help to educate community leaders and legislators about factors that affect our ability to breathe, and issues that affect those living with lung disease.
